Meet Our Team

Hi, I’m Sharwani. I’m an Education and Service Consultant working with VTMH. I started in 2026.  

My professional practice is grounded in transcultural mental health, family-inclusive practice, service development, clinical consultation, and culturally responsive mental health care.

With more than a decade of experience in mental health and social work, I have worked across public mental health, early intervention, acute and crisis settings, family work, and specialist transcultural mental health services. Throughout my career, I have been committed to supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities and helping services strengthen culturally responsive approaches to care.

I hold a Master of Social Work and bring experience across clinical practice, leadership, consultation, training, and service development. I am particularly interested in how systems, relationships, communication, and cultural understanding influence people’s experiences of mental health care. My work focuses on supporting services to improve cultural responsiveness through stronger pathways, family engagement, language access, and reflective practice.

At VTMH, I hope to contribute to building mental health services that embed cultural responsiveness as a core component of safe, equitable, and person-centred care. I am passionate about strengthening partnerships between services, communities, and lived and living experience voices so that culturally diverse consumers and families experience care that is accessible, respectful, and meaningful.
