Welcome to the Learning Hub

Our online learning modules will guide you through a range of practices and topics that build cultural responsiveness in mental health settings. We hope they help you in your work  – whatever it may be.

Modules include:

  • Orientation to Cultural Responsiveness: This module introduces key concepts in culturally responsive mental health practice. It provides information that supports individuals  working with consumers, carers, families, and communities, and can also support agencies to implement a diversity plan.
  • Cultural Diversity & Assessment: This module supports mental health practitioners to consider cultural aspects of mental health and wellbeing when undertaking assessments. Concepts and tools are explored that help clarify the role culture plays for those with a lived experience of mental health, for practitioners, and within mental health systems.
  • Working with Interpreters: This module creates an opportunity to explore and reflect on the range of factors that come together to support our work with interpreters. Providing a snapshot of key practices, strategies and learnings, it helps us to discover useful ways to approach our work with interpreters.
  • An introduction to community engagement in mental health: This module is a starting point for practitioners interested in exploring community engagement in mental health settings and introduces a range of topics and themes to support mental health workers apply a community engagement approach to their work.
  • LGBTIQ Intersect: This online learning resource promotes equity and inclusion from an intersectional understanding of identities and experiences. It  enhances visibility, safety, mental health and wellbeing, social inclusion and a sense of belonging amongst LGBTIQA+ people from multicultural, spiritual and faith-based communities.

Some modules also support our workshop program by acting as pre-readings, and can also be completed as standalone learning, either individually or as part of team-based professional development. They are all self-paced, so you can log in and out at any time and save your progress as you go.
